SWANSEA WAGON

It is a second class postal car. It has a postal department and two departments of passengers. It has side access. It had a maximum capacity for 16 people. It has no interior corridor to communicate the different departments. It is 7 m. long by 1,98 wide and 2,20 high. It has two independent axles and it is constructed entirely of wood, also the structure, except for the running system. Its empty weight is 5,200 kg. It was purchased by “Ferrocarriles de Mallorca” in the late 1870s to “Swansea Wagon Co.” of Cardiff. The Majorcan Company had 54 vehicles of this type. It is the oldest postal car in Spain.
