CP E 215

The locomotive ran through the Vouga line in Portugal. Built in 1923.It is based on a “Mallet” traction system. The locomotive was built with the “Compound” system. This system allows the steam to be used twice: first in two high pressure motors and afterwards in two low pressure motors. Therefore, the engine has four motors. This system allows to get more power. It was built by Henschel-Kassel. It is a “1-2-3-0 T” locomotive. Its weight is 60 tonnes and it has a length of 12.1 meters.
It belongs to a series of 16 locomotives numbered from E-201 to E-216.
The first locomotives were removed from the service in the early 70s and the last ones in the late 80s
