The Consell Station was the starting point of the Alaró’s line. For 54 years this line was linked with the Majorca Railways network. The station consisted of a main building for passengers, and a small garage built by the Alaró railway, now defunct.
Alaró’s line opened in 1881, but until 1884 building works were not completed. In its early days the trains were with animal traction. The journey down to the Railways station of Mallorca was done by inertia, and the speed was controlled with the handbrake. The horses down the road alone. In the opposite way up to Alaró, horses dragged the train. In 1921 entered into service two gas locotractors called "Sant Cabrit" and "Sant Bassa", replaced thus the weary horses.
The line served numerous mines located near the route shaped by the line.
