FOUNDATION

The Foundation FERROCAIB of Balearic Islands, was founded in 2008 by the Friends of the Balearic Railway Association. Currently The Fundation is composed by this Association, Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca-SFM and several individuals persons linked to the world of heritage preservation.

The objectives of the Foundation are the folowing one’s:

• Preserve, catalog, restore and expose the railway heritage.
• Disseminate all cultural aspects of the railway transport.
• Disseminate the socio- economic and environmental benefits of this mode of transport.
• Promote research on public and collective transport.
• Promote the knowledge and use by society of railway transport.
• Create a railway museum facilities.

The Foundation carries out intensive task of recovering the historic railway heritage closely with Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca-SFM.
